Caveats
- Visitation is counted in visitor days, a measure of use over time rather than a headcount of visitors, so it differs from a count of vehicle entries or of individual people.
- Visitation is reported for the calendar year, not the state's fiscal year used elsewhere in this dataset.
- Visitation and acreage are printed in thousands and stored to the nearest thousand; only that precision is meaningful.
- State park acreage includes land under water.
- State park visitation is not broken out by individual park in this source; only a statewide total is published here.

Caveats
- Spending figures are actual expenditure on the modified accrual basis for governmental funds only; they exclude proprietary funds and component units, in thousands of dollars.
- The source labels its fiscal year 2024 spending column "as restated"; fiscal year 2024 spending observations carry a note saying so.
- Full-time headcount excludes part-time and temporary employees; the fiscal year 2024 count reflects a 2024 change of financial systems.
- Dashboard-only figures on transparent.idaho.gov (vendor payment, agency transaction, and pay tools) are not part of this dataset; only the ACFR PDF was used.
- Each share is percent of total state employment as of June 30, 2016 and June 30, 2025, a calendar-year average except the State of Idaho's own count, as of January 9, 2025.
- Schedule 12's underlying employee counts are published only as ranges, never a single figure; percentages are stored as observations, ranges are kept in records only.
Where sources disagree
- Total state expenditures (governmental funds, actual), Idaho, FY2025: the Idaho Legislative Services Office publishes $13.0 billion. This dataset's fiscal year 2025 total ($15,233,737,000) is actual expenditure for governmental funds only, on the modified accrual basis (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles). The Legislative Services Office's figure is fiscal year 2025 actual expenditure on the state's budgetary basis, all funds (General, dedicated, and federal funds tracked through the appropriation process), which excludes the governmental-funds report's proprietary funds and component units and uses cash and encumbrance appropriation accounting rather than modified accrual. Both figures are real and correctly sourced; they answer different questions about the same fiscal year.
