Caveats
- Employment is published only as a range (e.g. '12,500 - 14,999') and is stored and shown as such; this dataset never computes or displays a midpoint or point estimate.
- The list covers only employers that signed a disclosure agreement giving the Idaho Department of Labor permission to release their name, employment range, and ownership/industry. It is not an exhaustive ranking of Idaho's largest employers: a large employer that declined disclosure is simply absent from the list.
- These figures are the department's own Business Listings program, not the Quarterly Census of Employment and Wages (QCEW). LMI publishes Covered employment (QCEW) as a separate dataset on the same site; the two should not be conflated or compared as if measuring the same thing the same way.
- rank is this puller's own 1-based numbering following the workbook's row order, which the department sorts by employment range descending. Where multiple employers share the same range, rank follows the sheet's existing order among them (not a secondary sort by name or by the count within the range).
- The department labels this the "2025" edition of the list (both the page heading and the workbook filename), but neither the page nor the workbook states a specific reference date, quarter, or as-of point within 2025 that the employment ranges describe. year here is that publisher edition label, not a stated observation date.
- publisherUpdated (2026-08-31) is the page's own "last updated" footer date, confirmed by the workbook's internal last-modified metadata. It reflects when this edition was last revised, not the reference period the figures describe.
