The hydroelectric share of net generation covers every state, the District of Columbia and the nation, wherever the source reports a hydroelectric row for that place and year (49 of 52).

Caveats
- Generation figures are net of plant use (station power), not gross generation.
- The source publishes megawatthours; values here are divided by 1000 to store gigawatthours.
- The by-source breakdown is stored for Idaho and the US only; a source is omitted for a year EIA collected none.
- Hydro share excludes pumped storage, which EIA reports as a separate energy source.
