Caveats
- Each figure is a state's own report for that school year; states use different survey methods (a full census of kindergartners, or a sample) and a change from one year to the next can partly reflect a change in method.
- A state that did not require a vaccine, or did not report a figure, has no value for that school year rather than a coverage rate.
- Any Exemption is not always the sum of Medical Exemption and Non-Medical Exemption: CDC counts a child with at least one exemption once under Any Exemption, and in a few states exemption counts are reported per vaccine rather than per child, which can inflate the reported number of exemptions.
