Caveats
- This is a sample survey estimate, not a full enumeration, and is revised in later NASS releases.
- California last reported hops acreage in 1984 and has none since; it remains in this series because Quick Stats still carries it as a hops-growing state.
- Understand Idaho pulls this series through USDA's Quick Stats programmatic API, which requires a registration key. The interactive tool linked above needs no key and returns the same figures.
- Idaho's variety breakdown does not sum to the state total: Quick Stats withholds many named varieties in most years to avoid disclosing a single operation's acreage, and the published 'Other' line does not capture every withheld variety.
- Idaho's organic hops acreage is published separately by NASS as a production practice, not a variety, and is not included in this breakdown.
- Price received is for the marketing year, which runs past the calendar year the crop was harvested in, so it is published later than that year's acreage and production.
- For every year both series carry, this value of production equals USDA Economic Research Service's cash receipts for Idaho hops to the dollar, so the two are not independent confirmations of each other.
