Field reference
One row per proposed generator in Idaho, from the newest Form EIA-860 release's Proposed sheet.
plant: Plant name as printed on Form EIA-860.operator: Utility Name as printed on Form EIA-860; the form's respondent, not necessarily the future owner.county: County as printed on Form EIA-860.source: Source category mapped from the generator's Technology or Energy Source 1.nameplate_mw: Nameplate Capacity (MW) for this generator.planned_operating_year: Form EIA-860's Effective Year: the planned year this generator enters commercial operation.status: Form EIA-860's Proposed Generator Status Code, spelled out from the form's instructions.
Caveats
- Latest EIA-860 final release only, not a time series: this file is replaced whole on every refresh, one row per proposed generator at a plant that has not yet reached commercial operation.
- A multi-unit project (a peaking plant ordering several identical engines, or a solar-plus-storage site) lists one row per generator, since Form EIA-860 records a separate status and Nameplate Capacity (MW) for each; the same plant name can repeat with different sources, capacities and planned years.
- status is Form EIA-860's own Proposed Generator Status Code spelled out from the form's instructions (Table 6); it is the generator's regulatory and construction stage as of December 31 of the reporting year, not a forecast of when it will be built.
- A generator here can still be cancelled or postponed before its planned year; Form EIA-860 moves a cancelled or indefinitely postponed project to the Retired and Canceled sheet the year that happens, which this dataset does not carry (see eia-plants-idaho-retired, which excludes cancellations too).
