Caveats

• This series is seasonally adjusted (BLS/FRED do not publish a not-seasonally-adjusted state total nonfarm series on the free channels this puller could reach).
• BLS's own flat-file host (download.bls.gov) returned a persistent Akamai bot-mitigation block (HTTP 403) to every attempt to fetch this series directly, so this puller uses a fallback: the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis's FRED (series IDNA, a free keyless mirror of this exact BLS series, back to 1990) if reachable, else the registration-free BLS API v1 (series SMS16000000000000001), whose unregistered window is capped to roughly the trailing 3 years regardless of the date range requested.
• This specific pull found FRED also unavailable (it began refusing connections partway through this session, after working earlier for other pulls in this same session) and used the API v1 fallback, so this dataset covers only 2024 and 2025 -- the complete calendar years inside that rolling window at pull time -- not the 1990-2025 span the underlying series actually has. Re-running this puller when FRED is reachable again will backfill the full history without any code change.
• The annual figure is this puller's own computed mean of the year's 12 seasonally adjusted monthly values, the convention BLS itself uses for an annual-average nonfarm employment figure.
• The source publishes this series in thousands of persons to one decimal place; this puller multiplies by 1,000 to store a people count, so only the hundreds digit of the stored value is meaningful.
• Idaho Department of Labor (lmi.idaho.gov) republishes BLS CES nonfarm employment figures for Idaho; no disagreement with BLS's own numbers was found or is expected.
