Caveats
- Values are in nominal (current-year) dollars, thousands of dollars ($1,000), not adjusted for inflation, so the 2015 and 2025 figures are not directly comparable without a deflator.
- 2025 is the newest year with Idaho state-level cash receipts in this release; the file's national-level rows extend to a 2026 forecast, but ERS had not yet published Idaho's 2026 figures as of retrieval.
- Several category labels are themselves sums of other category labels in this same list, not disjoint commodities: Food Grains equals Wheat exactly (Idaho reports no rice), Meat Animals equals Cattle and Calves plus Hogs, and Poultry/Eggs equals Farm Chickens plus Chicken Eggs plus Turkeys. Crops and Livestock and Products are themselves the two top-level subtotals that sum to All Commodities. Do not sum every category expecting the state total; use the All Commodities figure (Crops plus Livestock and Products) for that.
- Some minor commodities appear in one year but not the other (for example apples, cherries and peaches appear for 2015 but not 2025) because ERS omits a line for a commodity a state did not report separately that year; the observation is simply absent rather than zero.
- Category names are built from the source's own VariableDescriptionTotal label with the 'Cash receipts value,' prefix removed and a trailing ', all' dropped; a few resulting labels (for example 'Other Crops, All Other Crops') are clunky but are the source's own phrasing, not an editing error.
